24 Karat Blau
by Ingo Maurer
Metal, four plates with a gold leaf cast in acrylic glass. The diaphragms each have four holes, with which they can be suspended at the bar cross-section at different angles. The covers for 24 karat blue are produced individually by hand. The leaf gold is beaten 1 / 10,000 mm thin - that is 1,000 atomic layers - so that shortwave blue light can shine between the molecules, while yellow-golden light is reflected.
